Bringing hope home

A Link Poetry Poem by Ritesh Nigam

Please do not end, hope.
Hope that lifts us up,
up to places higher than before.

Before you ever leave,
leave a shining light behind.
Behind you trails the darkness.
Darkness that curls, eager to bind.

Bind me instead to hope.
Hope for a world that’s new,
new enough to glimmer bright,
bright enough, burning with light,
light of hope. Rays of salvation.

Salvation, please come back to earth.
Earth needs every hope there is.
Is there a way to tie both down,
down here, to scare the darkness?
