Left behind

A Link Poetry Poem by Ritesh Nigam

I see you’ve walked away.
Away from my prying eyes,
eyes that missed the prize again.
Again I sit here, alone.
Alone in the dim, the grim.
Grim reapers circle the room now.

Now I know what I have lost.
Lost in my own mind, my black heart.
Heart be mended. Please be mended.
Mended by a new love, while I wait.
Wait for the cracks to heal, I guess.

Guess how much I loved you?
You, who so easily wandered off.
Off you went, so easily free.
Free like a ship as you left me.
Me, be mended. Please be mended.
